About Judith Filsinger

Paralegal and Client Care Coordinator at Mandekor Law Firm

Judith Filsinger brings a unique blend of medical and legal experience to our team, from supporting attorneys working in civil rights, employment advocacy, plaintiff representation, and insurance defense. Her career began in the medical field, where she ran a busy office and learned the fine details of billing codes, pre-existing conditions, and insurance company policies. It’s there where she first honed her natural gift for making people feel supported and valued.

Judith’s skillset eventually led her to a jury research and trial consulting firm, where she assisted in creating medical summaries for mock and shadow trials in preparation for some of the nation’s highest-profile cases. One of her earliest projects involved interviewing California residents affected by a toxic dump site in Riverside County and developing summaries of their exposure history and health effects. Think Erin Brockovich before Brockovich became a household name.

After moving to Portland in 1998, she joined an insurance defense firm, where she focused on medical investigation and summary preparation. It was while working on the defense side that Judith eventually met Angel during a job interview. They arrived wearing the same blouse in different colors and immediately clicked. As fate would have it, Judith worked with Angel and Gretchen for many years before they sadly had to go their separate ways—-but they were determined to one day meet again. Now, they couldn’t be happier to be reunited at Mandekor Law Firm.

As a Paralegal and Client Care Coordinator, Judith draws on her extensive medical background and empathic heart to advocate for our clients, communicate with medical offices and insurance companies, and ensure our team has every detail we need to prepare winning cases.

Outside the office, she spends every moment she can with her two daughters and three granddaughters, reading, gardening, or crafting her famous mixed tapes. Her happy place is Kauai, where she loves to sit by the ocean with a good book, surrounded by the sound of waves, wind, and birds. She brings that same calm to her work, acting as a reassuring presence for our clients when they need it most.
